What's Making Us Happy: Idol Talk

Take note:

Iris Apfel's quips on style and glamour are some of the best accessories the fashion industry has to offer. Apart from being colorful and quick-witted, they grip us on a deeper level and make us question what we believe, how we develop our own philosophies, and ultimately push us to THINK BIG. That’s why this week we’re celebrating our stylish new GLAM HAM collection with some of our most loved words of wisdom from the most seasoned icon of them all. Enjoy!

TAYLOR

"It's not intellectual. It's all gut."

Brains can be tricky. Guts are much more honest. All the best things in my life have come from this method; the town I live in, the person I spend my life with, the house I live in, and the job I have. It's cool that someone as cool as Iris follows this method too.

MICHAEL

“When you don't dress like everybody else, you don't have to think like everybody else.”

Because today I'm wearing culottes and I didn't care for Barb on Stranger Things.

SUZY

"If you're lucky enough to get old, I think you should celebrate it."

I love that Iris seems to live every day like it's a celebration. Her outfits are always so colorful and she wears huge stacks of jewels. GROWNUP GOALS!

JAY

“It’s more important to be happy than well-dressed.”

First thing’s first: DO YOU. When you’re happy with who you are, what you wear will reflect happiness. Think about it. Have you ever seen a sad person in a feather boa?

KAT

"You have to be interested. If you aren't interested you can't be interesting."

I think people are so uninterested in truly understanding anything today. They see some stupid fact on the Internet and they are suddenly a genius on the topic. It's so boring and more often fake. But people that take the time to learn and educate themselves, people that can debate on topics . . . people that take the time to think before they speak . . . those people have my attention.

JESS

“I still have the dress I wore on the first date with my husband, which was more than 66 years ago. I still have it, and it still fits.”

I love this, but sometimes you can't remember details about certain events, but when you feel good in something, you always remember what you were wearing.
