Hit it Fergie.
Glamour is a many-splendored thing. Glamour lifts us up where we belong. All you need is glamour! Right? I mean, up until this point, glamour has had almost as many transformations as Madonna. The 70s had glam rock, the 90s had Glamour Shots, and today there’s GLAM HAM – our fashionable new collection bursting with vibrant charm, character and two of the richest younger-than-us people we’ll never ever meet.
Probably the best thing about glamour is that it means something different to everyone. Someone’s glam trash is another's glam treasure (somebody jot that down). It’s for this reason and more that this installment of What’s Making Us Happy is all about GLAMOUR, how we define it, and where we found it this week. Enjoy!
To me, glamour is PRETTY ASPIRATIONS
This week it’s all about the September issues and they’re the best things happening in real magazines. September issues are about looking forward in fashion. It’s risk taking, not what you’re wearing to the mall tomorrow.
To me, glamour is FABULOUS OLD-TIMEY ACTRESSES WEARING SILK ROBES AND SMOKING CIGARETTES
I really liked Rihanna's VMA performance this past Sunday. I liked her high ponytail and how everyone was wearing hoods. It made her stand out and very glamorous in the moment. And I liked that it was all one color. Pink makes me feel light and carefree – like a bubble. Is carefree a gum? OK, like a bubblegum bubble.
To me, glamour is ALL BLACK EVERYTHING
How can the 1999 Fabio/Seagull Incident not make me happy? The most glamorous man in he world (at one time) kills a seagull with his bare nose. I mean it was a strong nose.
It makes me happy that the universe waited 17 years to let me find out about it so I could appreciate the situation in my adult maturity.
To me, glamour is A SEXY FORCE FIELD
This week I’ve been watching Jem and the Holograms on Netflix, and it’s got me super happy. Fashion and style from the 1980s was so gaudy glam – especially in cartoon form! I also realized that like Jem with her magical earring, glamour isn’t all fashion, fame and living a luxurious lifestyle, it’s also the synergetic image of success that you project to an audience. It’s all about the razzle dazzle, baby!
To me, glamor is HIGH HEELS AT THE POOL
The upcoming season of Project Runway is making me happy. I’m excited for the new designers and the unconventional challenge. Making outfits out of TAY HAM cards would be the most glamorous! And I’ll probably agree with whatever Nina says.
... oh the flossy flossy
