If you’re a super fan of the 80’s-90’s most popular teen sitcom, you might want to start planning your summer pilgrimage ASAP because your Mecca (aka a Saved By The Bell-themed restaurant) just popped up in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood for the season.
Saved By The Max opened its funky eggplant door on Wednesday to a mass of self-identifying Bayside Tigers hungry for a bit of nostalgia and they weren’t disappointed. Chicago events planner Derek Berry, or “The Maxinista” as we will refer to him now, decked out the space to look exactly like the SBTB gang's popular after school hangout that housed numerous dance competitions, pep rallies, break-ups, make-ups and that time Kelly Kapowski won Homecoming Queen with a maroon face!
There’s even a private dining room that resembles Mr. Belding’s office.
It ain’t all for looks, though. The Maxinista brought in Michelin-star chef Brian Fisher to create a menu worthy of any eternal teen’s taste buds. Even Miss Bliss made the cut! See for yourself:
Like all good TV, the show must come to an end. Unless it gets syndicated, Saved by the Max will close up shop in August. Hurry before it disappears!
