It's about that time.
Forget the nesting doves and slutty curbside daffodils already in bloom; have you noticed the streetlights prematurely blinking on yet? It’s a literal sign of the times, yo! Daylight savings is coming! Daylight savings is coming!
Who knew Benjamin Franklin’s little joke to the French about saving candles would conjure up an actual change in time? More importantly, who knew that over 200 years later, we’d all still willingly succumb to a practice that forfeits an extra hour of delicious sleep every morning? It’s preposterous! But hey, ya snooze, ya lose. So this Sunday at 2AM (EST) let’s all revel in the fact that come Monday, we’ll have an extra hour of healthy star shine to enjoy in the evening.
Just in case your winter noggin needs some joggin’, here’s some activities to help fully enjoy your time in the sun.
Go for a run
Sunlight releases happy, energy-inducing endorphins.
Work in the garden
That whole "Daylight Saving is for the farmers" is actually a myth. The lost hour in the morning meant that they had to rush to get their crops to market. But don't let that ruin a good rosemary pruning sesh, k?
Enjoy a refreshing beverage
Take your pet on an extra long walk
Read a book (alone)
Take the scenic route home
Have a good time!
